Divorce Mediation
We offer bilingual services in English and Korean in Queens, New York, for couples wanting to avoid costly litigations and courts. When you choose divorce mediation, you’re choosing a more peaceful, intentional, and empowered way to move forward.

Certified Mediator
Our lead clinician, Dr. Cho, is a certified mediator. With deep expertise in both conflict resolution and mental health, she brings a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to mediation. As a neutral facilitator, Dr. Cho helps couples—particularly from English-Korean community, and women of color — navigate emotionally charged conversations with clarity, respect, and dignity, ensuring every voice is heard without judgment or bias.
Mental Health Advocates
Our Mind in Motion therapeutic team offers specialized emotional support for individuals involved in the mediation process. Acting as mental health advocates, we coach clients through difficult conversations (such as breaking sensitive news), help develop emotional safety plans, and prepare individuals for high-stakes interactions. Trained by our certified mediator, our advocates ensure the emotional climate stays constructive, making the process as civil, culturally safe, and non-traumatic as possible.
Group Mediation
When appropriate, we provide a group-based mediation format involving relevant professionals—legal, financial, and mental health—collaborating as a unified team. This integrated model allows for behind-the-scenes coordination that helps prepare for difficult moments and supports smoother delivery of tough messages. It’s especially effective in complex cases, where real-time guidance from a multidisciplinary team helps de-escalate conflict and sustain a forward-moving, solution-focused process.

HOW IT WORKS & WHAT YOU GET
What's a Divorce Mediation?
Mediation is a process that encourages open dialogue between partners in order to reach mutually agreed-upon resolutions without the need for court intervention. It provides a structured yet flexible space where you and your partner can discuss important issues—like parenting, finances, or living arrangements—with the support of a neutral third party.
Unlike litigation, mediation prioritizes your autonomy and helps reduce emotional and financial strain. In fact, while court battles can cost upwards of $700,000, mediation offers a more cost-effective path, often saving families hundreds of thousands of dollars. And most importantly, it fosters a sense of empowerment and dignity during a challenging life transition.
Navigating the complexities of separation is never easy, we help you avoid court and settle your differences in a more gentle & respectful way.

Even in court cases, nearly 98% of divorce proceedings end in settlement. Mediation brings you to that resolution with more agency, less conflict, and greater emotional clarity. Judges themselves often encourage couples to pursue mediation before returning to court."

What’s the difference between a mediator and a mental health advocate?
A mediator is a neutral third party who facilitates conversations and helps both partners reach mutual agreements. A mental health advocate, on the other hand, supports the emotional and psychological well-being of one party in the process, offering coaching, coping strategies, and a therapeutic presence.
Can I still use your services if my partner and I don’t agree on everything?
Yes. Mediation is designed to help couples navigate disagreements in a structured, supported way. Our mediator will help guide the conversation so both voices are heard and potential compromises can be explored.
Do I need to be referred by an attorney to work with you?
No referral is necessary. However, this is a collaborative process and we do work with attorneys and other professionals as part of our team-based approach, and we’re happy to coordinate care if you already have legal representation.
What kind of training does your team have in mediation?
Our lead clinician is a certified mediator and actively participates in ongoing professional development in mediation practices. Other team members serve as mental health advocates and on top of their degree and career in psychotherapy, receive internal mediation training to understand the specifics of the process and support clients in informed way.
