Taking the first step towards better mental health can be daunting, but it’s also a courageous decision that deserves to be celebrated. At Mind in Motion, we understand the importance of finding the right therapist – someone who can provide a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and emotions. That’s why our intake process is designed to be a warm, supportive experience from the very beginning.
Extender la mano: el primer paso
We know that making that initial contact can feel intimidating, which is why our support staff is here to listen with empathy and compassion. Whether you prefer to connect with us by phone, email, or through our website, we’ll gather some basic information to understand your needs better. This initial conversation is simply an opportunity for us to hear your story – there’s no commitment required at this stage.
Whichever approach you choose, our goal is to make you feel supported and understood from the moment you connect with us.
Comprender su cobertura
If you plan to use insurance, we’ll ask you to provide your insurance card and date of birth. Our dedicated billing coordinator will then work diligently to verify your eligibility and explain your coverage for mental health services.
We know that navigating insurance can be confusing, which is why we prioritize clear communication throughout the process. While we can’t guarantee the outcome until your claims are processed, we’ll do our best to provide accurate information about copays, coinsurances, deductibles, and any potential out-of-pocket costs.
Encontrar el ajuste adecuado
Our team of experienced therapists comes from diverse backgrounds, with unique specialties and counseling styles. After learning more about your specific needs and goals, we’ll carefully match you with a therapist we believe will be the best fit for your therapeutic journey.
However, if you feel the connection isn’t quite right, we encourage you to discuss your concerns with your therapist openly. This can lead to a productive exploration of your therapy wishes and needs. If the issue extends beyond the therapeutic relationship, we would be happy to match you with another therapist. We don’t always change therapists right away, as addressing concerns within the existing relationship can often lead to valuable growth and understanding. Ultimately, your comfort and trust are our top priorities.

Just as every color in this abstract painting brings its own beauty, everyone deserves to be seen and supported in their unique journey. At Mind in Motion, we know how much it matters to feel understood, which is why our team includes therapists from many different backgrounds, so you can find the right person for you.
La primera cita: generar confianza y establecer metas
Your first session will focus on building rapport, establishing therapeutic goals, and determining the most effective treatment approach. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about documentation, billing, office policies, and more. As your comfort and trust grow, the real therapeutic work will begin. Rest assured, we’ll continuously evaluate your progress and adjust the counseling plan to best serve your needs.
At Mind in Motion, we strive to create a judgment-free atmosphere where you feel safe, respected, and hopeful. Our intake process lays the foundation, but true change happens when the client and therapist join forces in a collaborative partnership. We’re here to support you every step of the way on your healing journey. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any additional questions or concerns.
