Why students choose us

In-person in Albany, virtual anywhere in NY or NJ, or a mix of both. We’re in-network and out-of-network with many popular insurance providers, as well as offer sliding-scale and lower-fee options starting at $75/hour.

Campus counseling centers often book out 2–3 weeks or more. We typically get students in within days depending on therapists availability. However, we believe that therapy works because of the relationship between you and your therapist. That’s why we offer complimentary “chemistry check” calls with all of our therapists, including those who may not have immediate availability to help you find therapist you’re comfortable with and plan your therapy.

Our clinicians work specifically with the pressures of college and grad school — academic stress, identity, transitions, relationships, family expectations.

Therapist Matching Quiz has multiple-choice questions and takes only 6 minutes to complete.

We've Worked with Counseling Centres of Major Universities Since 2019

Get Started

No. While many students do come to us through a referral from their campus counseling center, you’re welcome to reach out directly – no referral needed.

No. What you share with your therapist is confidential, protected by the same legal and ethical standards as any licensed therapist, and we won’t contact your school or your family without your explicit permission.

Anxiety and depression are the most common – often tied to academic pressure, life transitions, relationships, or identity. But we also see students dealing with trauma, grief, family conflict, eating and body image concerns, and more. If it’s affecting your life, it’s worth talking about.

Most students see the most benefit from weekly sessions, especially early on. Your therapist will work with you to figure out what actually fits your schedule and needs.

Usually, yes. We’re in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Optum, UnitedHealthcare, CDPHP, Medicare, Oscar and UMR, and out-of-network with EmblemHealth, BlueCross BlueShield, 1199SEIU, Beacon Health Options, and ComPsych. We’ll verify your benefits before you’re charged for anything. If you’re not covered, we have lower-cost options too.
